How did an end of life coach use a video brand story to ease client concerns?

Updated: Apr 10

Video brand story produced by Ideal Video Strategies for end of life Coach Rev at the Crossroads

One of the most memorable connections I've made through my work happened with Lee Atherton from CoachRev @the Crossroads. Back in the day, I produced a series of videos for the Justice Resource Institute to reduce stigma around addiction. These videos were integrated into educational courses aimed at helping public servants develop more compassion for people struggling with addiction.

I was invited to attend one of those courses to see how the videos were making an impact. That’s where I met Lee. She approached me afterward to chat about my work and mentioned she might be interested in something similar for her own business. Then Covid hit, and everything got put on hold. Fast forward to 2021—Lee reached out again to pick up the conversation.

As I got to know Lee and her support dog, Shadow, I was blown away by the work they do. At the time, Lee was focused on providing guidance and support for people nearing the end of life—an incredibly challenging job that only someone with a truly special heart could take on. Shadow, an amazing black lab, was trained to comfort people during their hardest moments.

We decided to create a video brand story for this end of life coach to showcase what Lee does and how Shadow plays a key role. I feel so lucky to have told their story—and even luckier to have gotten to know them on a personal level. Fun fact: We had an extra cancel at the last minute, so my mom ended up stepping in as the grieving woman who needed support.

Lee’s mission has grown since then, and she’s looking to connect with service dog owners for a new project. If you know anyone who might be interested, let me know!

Here’s what Lee had to say about the video brand story Ideal Video Strategies created for her:

"As a coach who serves people at end of life and grief, it’s important for me to help people get to know, like, and trust me well. Dying and death are not something we get a do-over for, and often people don't have time to 'try another coach.' I knew that a video could make a significant difference but wasn't sure how to go about it. Ideal Video was the answer!

I am absolutely blown away by the video brand story that was created! People have told me it’s the best they've seen and that it captures the essence of who I am perfectly. I even received a message from someone grieving a significant loss who said that just watching it made him feel cared for and supported in a safe way that finally allowed him to cry.

Ideal Video gets a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+ from CoachRev. The process from start to finish was seamless. Jeff’s communication was fast, complete, and concise. He always had a smile and was eager to answer questions, make changes I wanted, and professionally counter any changes that might not be in my best interest.

Jeff’s honesty, integrity, and passion were refreshing, and I highly recommend him without reservation!"
